Aviation Stuff

I took this picture while flying yesterday. I was at 2500 feet above the ground when I took this picture. The cluster of buildings is downtown Greenville and the green line above it and to the right is the Greenville downtown airport. You can see a thunderstorm building in the west as well. A very awesome view. The day I stop being amazed by what I see when in the air is the day I stop flying. How can you not believe in God when you see that??
This is the first big helicopter project I have been involved in. This is a OH-58, the military version of a Bell Jet Ranger. It was purchased by an upstate Sheriff office. We are replacing the two lower nose windows and the two "skylight" windows above front seats. We also are doing a few sheet metal repairs on the body. This is all in preparation for it to go to the paint shop where it will receive a nice paint job and have the county's logos put on it. After that we are maintaining it as various parts and sections need inspected and replaced.

Campbell and Sienna

Campbell decided she needed some pictures with her new cousin. She tried to do with Sienna as she does with everything that gets near her, put her in her mouth.

Our New Niece

Today our niece Sienna arrived. Her big brother Eli (who turned 1 last Sunday) is excited (we think, he kinda misses his mom and dad, that picture was not taken today, he was pretty tired at the hospital but managed a welcome to the family kiss on her forehead.) and Campbell I'm sure would be excited if she had a clue what was going on. It is hard to imagine that Campbell was that small only five months ago. Sienna's mom is recovering well from the C-section

Campbell's First Snow

We got a Southern "Snow Storm" two weeks ago. The snow you see in the background was about as bad as it got at our place. My relatives and friends up north are probably laughing at the fact that that much snow closed down the majority of the Upstate SC counties. I too remember getting more than a foot of snow in one night and still having to go to school back in Indiana. However, as I have learned about many things down here, if they close the city down for that little snow there is probably a good reason for it. You really don't want to go and join the other people who decide to drive when it gets like this.

I had always hoped Campbell's first encounter with snow would be a little more significant but it was fun none the less.

Campbell's Ears Pierced

We got Campbell's ears pierced last Wednesday. Elisabeth said the cry she gave when it was done was unlike any cry she had ever heard before. I was proud of her for even taking her to get it done without out me since mom needs my emotional support when it is shot time at the Dr.'s office. However, neither Campbell or Elisabeth were traumatized from the experience and all of us love the new accent.
